Enabling the Business of Agriculture (EBA) focuses on identifying and monitoring regulations and policies that affect agriculture and agribusiness markets. The project aims to inform and encourage policy decisions that support inclusive participation in agricultural value chains and foster an environment that is conducive to local and regional business in agriculture. Six core topics were selected for the project's pilot phase: land, finance, seed, fertilizer, transport and markets. Three other topics have been identified for initial testing: contract farming, rural electrification, information and communication technology. Several others will be tackled in year 2 of the project’s implementation: agricultural mechanization, livestock, environmental sustainability, gender issues and access to water resources.
